Child Protection and Safeguarding

Keeping children safe at Huckleberry is not only part of our culture but an upmost priority.

The safety of the pupils and the families we work with are a priority to us all – IT IS EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY.

The Deputy Head, Miss Ford, is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) at Huckleberry School. The school also has two Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads (DDSL) who are Mrs Skinner and Miss Walton.  Any concerns in school are reported to them.

Due to the vulnerable nature of our children and their difficulties and some challenges with communicating, it is not uncommon for a member of the safeguarding team to follow up a potential concern with parents – often to simply clarify what a child may have communicated to someone. This is their legal responsibility and we appreciate your understanding that your child’s wellbeing is of the utmost importance to us.

What to do if you have a safeguarding concern:

If you have any concerns at all, please contact a DSL or DDSL as soon as possible.

Should your concern be in respect to a member of school staff then contact the Headteacher immediately.

However, if you have a concern about the Headteacher then please contact the Company Proprietor, Mr Sukhbir Singh.
