Headteacher’s Welcome
I am delighted to introduce myself to you as the Headteacher of Huckleberry Therapeutic School.
To be the Headteacher of such a unique and nurturing therapeutic primary school is a real privilege. Huckleberry is an exciting and enriching learning environment, and it is my aim and commitment to ensure that no child is left behind, but rather encouraged to develop the confidence to be the greatest they can be.
The school is committed to making a real difference in the lives of the children in our setting. We aim to give our children the very best start to their educational journey, developing a lifelong love of learning, ready for independence and the stepping stones to their education.
We aim for every child to be excited by their learning so that they are motivated to be the best that they can be. Our inspirational, talented and compassionate team are dedicated to every child's achievement. Working closely with families, we make sure that pupils are happy and that they are achieving success in all areas of school life within a nurturing approach and within a supportive network of staff and friendships.
Our focus is that every child will look back and recall their time at Huckleberry as a time of achievement, purpose, kindness with a sense of personal discovery.
Many of our pupils have had a difficult and challenging start to education and as such it is so important to ensure that, as a school we understand, are flexible and compassionate about every child we work with. Our school is a warm and nurturing community where our pupils feel happy and safe and are engaged by their educational experiences.
I believe that education is a partnership between home, school and relevant professionals and I hope to strengthen links with you as your child moves through our wonderful school.
With warmest regards,
Mrs Skinner
